All CWA Members are invited to join us on Monday, December 14th at 11:30, for our holiday show.  Thank you Lynda Huber-Marshall for arranging this program.

We will be presenting Basso a Deux in their holiday performance “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas.”

Basso a Deux [BAH-so ah DU] is Andrea Vorvick (vocals) and her husband Paul (upright bass). This local duo started with jazz and blues standards but as they continued to develop their unique, stripped-down style, they moved away from the traditional jazz catalog and started arranging and performing swing versions of classic rock tunes. One voice accompanied only by upright bass, bringing listeners fresh takes on songs by The Ramones, Billy Idol, ZZ Top, The Cars, and many more.

During the holidays, the pair is busy playing their festive holiday repertoire, from classics like White Christmas to esoteric, catchy tunes like Louis Prima’s What Would Santa Claus Say. Since 2013 Basso a Deux has kicked off the holiday season each November at Al’s Garden Centers’ Evening of Lights extravaganza.

Basso a Deux has also performed at NW Natural Street of Dreams, McMenamins White Eagle Saloon, Domaine Serene Wine Lounge, Wilsonville Rotary Summer Concerts, and a host of other wine bars, wineries, and local restaurants and events.

Charbonneau Festival of the Arts recently presented Basso a Deux on their Music Stage. where they highlighted their favorite jazz standards and originals. We hope you will join us.

Any questions about how to partcipate, let Elaine Swyt at eswyt@mediaphysics.com know and she should be able to help you join the virtual program if you need assistance.
