We are sending out a 3rd reminder because of the change in the day when the luncheon reservations must be in. Reservations for the luncheon must be made and paid for by TUESDAY, September 2 at noon. That is this Tuesday, the day after Labor Day. CWA regularly has a lot of last minute sign ups and we don’t want anyone to miss out by not realizing that the “last minute” will come earlier this year.
Our kick off for CWA club year is a luncheon event on Monday, September 8 to be held in the Dining Room of the Charbonneau Clubhouse at 11:30 am. We are very pleased to be presenting Portland bestselling author, Phillip Margolin, as our guest speaker that day. Mr. Margolin is the well-known writer of murder mystery and courtroom drama novels. Most of them are contemporary thrillers set in the Portland area such as Betrayal and The Perfect Alibi. Worthy Brown’s Daughter is a historical novel involving slavery and murder that takes place in in nineteenth century Oregon. His written scenes and words ring true since they spring from many years of experience working in Oregon as a attorney in private practice specializing in criminal defense. Mr. Margolin’s 28thnovel will be published this fall. I think it will be fascinating to hear about his career and how he became a writer.
The luncheon will be a pork tenderloin buffet provided by G Catering and wine will be served. The luncheon cost is $32 for members and $37 for non-members. You are welcome to attend one CWA event as a guest before joining. There is a luncheon book in the Charbonneau Activity Center closet where you can sign up to attend and the CWA lockbox for payment is on the wall just inside the closet doorway.
Won’t it be fun to be back together socializing and enjoying these luncheon events.
