We will kick off our CWA club year with a luncheon event on Monday, September 8. It will be held in the Dining Room of the Charbonneau Clubhouse at 11:30 am. We are very pleased to be presenting Portland bestselling author, Phillip Margolin, as our guest speaker that day.  Mr. Margolin is the well-known writer of murder mystery and courtroom drama novels.  Most of them are contemporary thrillers set in the Portland area such as Betrayal and The Perfect AlibiWorthy Brown’s Daughter is a historical novel involving slavery and murder that takes place in in nineteenth century Oregon. His written scenes and words ring true since they spring from many years of experience working in Oregon as a attorney in private practice specializing in criminal defense. Mr. Margolin’s 28thnovel will be published this fall. I think it will be fascinating to hear about his career and how he became a writer.

Reservations for the luncheon must be made and paid for by TUESDAY, September 2 at noon. That is the day after Labor Day, and it will come up fast. Our luncheon reservations are going to have to be in by the prior Tuesday this year due to the needs of our caterers.  The luncheon will be a pork tenderloin buffet provided by G Catering and wine will be served. The luncheon cost is $32 for members and $37 for non-members. You are welcome to attend one CWA event as a guest before joining. There is a luncheon book in the Charbonneau Activity Center closet where you can sign up to attend and the CWA lockbox for payment is on the wall just inside the closet doorway.

Won’t it be fun to be back together socializing and enjoying these luncheon events.
