Best wishes as we enter the new year! January has a different vibe than December. There are those New Year’s resolutions as well as more time at home to tackle some chores that we have been thinking about and putting off. With that in mind, the theme of the January 13th luncheon is Lighten Up and Let It Go. Our speaker is Deborah Ulrich from The Move Makers, a company with a goal of helping with organizing, downsizing and moving. To get us thinking and motivated we will be holding a mini “drop and swap” event at the luncheon. You are invited to bring a small item or two that you no longer want. We will have tables set up to display the items brought in. At the end of the luncheon you will have an opportunity to select an item to take, if you see something that appeals. There is no requirement to participate in the “drop and swap” and you do not have to bring an item in order to take one. Any leftover items will be donated at local second hand shops. This is not a sale — no money will be collected. We will gather in the Dining Room of the Clubhouse. Doors open at 11 am with the luncheon to start at 11:30.
The menu will be a light Italan buffet catered by Nortons. There will be soup and salad as well as pasta and shrimp scampi and dessert. The cost is $32 for members and $37 for non members. It was incorrectly stated in the Villager article. You may attend one luncheon during the club year as a non member before joining. The sign up book is available in the Activity Center closet. Payment may be handed in at the desk or placed in an envelope and dropped in the slot by the Activity Center doors. The deadline to sign up is this Thursday, January 9 at noon. It will be a nice time to get together and visit and perhaps share a story about moving.
